  • Home-pic-625-x-375

Workshop Category: Art, Black History, Carnival, Christmas, Dance, Drumming, Dyslexia, Early Years, Gifted and Talented, African, Holiday clubs, Motivation, Music, Outdoors, Preschool and Nursery, Science, Shows, Singing, Steel Band, Talking and Communicating, Team Building, Thinking Skills, World Book Day, and World Culture

Our steel pan workshops give the children an opportunity to experience live music, have a go, dance, learn about the history and how the steel pans are made and played. We use picture illustrations , tools, and a chance for children to ask us questions (depending on age and ability).

The workshops can be booked has a half day (am or pm) or a Full school day.
We cater for all types of schools ranging from Primary, Infants, Nursery, Secondary, Special Needs (Performance Only) and PRUs.

Our workshops have proved popular because the music allows the children to express themselves but more importantly it teaches them something about another musical culture and its history. Furthermore the music allows the children to express themselves freely. Additionally it teaches them something about another musical culture and its history.

The workshops are also ideal for Art Weeks, children who are learning about Pitch in Music and also for children learning about Sound and Vibration in a Science Lesson.

Some workshop feedback:

Hi, Thank you so much for coming to visit us last week. The children really enjoyed themselves during the workshop and have been able to recall their learning from the day since. The whole school, including the staff, loved the performance and especially the dancing. It was so nice for the children to be able to experience live music and be able to dance to it in such a natural way. Many thanks again for a lovely morning, Vicky, Garwood Lower School, Leighton Buzzard.
